Up to three cask beers from local micros, plus a proper handpulled cider — exactly what a summer pint should be.
Reviewers single out the sun-trap terrace and the beer range, and it's ranked among Havant's top spots on TripAdvisor too. If you're this side of the map, this is your garden.
4The Fox & Hounds, Waterlooville — the proper local

7The Royal Oak, Langstone — the waterside crown

It sits right on the water at Langstone, looking out over the harbour toward Hayling Island, and on a warm evening with the tide in there is genuinely nowhere better around here to nurse a pint and watch the light go. It's the setting pick, pure and simple — the food ratings run more mixed than the top of this list, but you're not really here for the food, you're here for that view.
Family-friendly, dog-friendly, and busy for good reason — parking's tight, so walk if you can. Time it for sunset and thank us later.
And one for the Horndean crowd — The Ship & Bell

We couldn't confirm a clean Google figure for this one, so we're being straight and giving you its TripAdvisor number instead rather than dressing up a score we can't stand behind. But no Horndean summer round-up is honest without it: the Ship & Bell is a 17th-century Fuller's coaching inn right in the middle of the village, with a beer garden, London Pride on the bar and meat from local award-winning butcher Owton's on the plates. The reviews run a little more up-and-down than the leaders above — which is exactly why we've flagged the number honestly — but for a Horndean local with proper history and a garden to sit out in, it earns its mention.
